Livio MorettiCommercial Excellence,
Livio has always been captivated by science and technology. The same curiosity that led him to graduate in Italy as an aerospace engineer, evolved over time from science to business, from numbers to people; the questions were different but the approach was not. Having been offered a scholarship for a French Grande Ecole, he moved to Paris where he received his second degree in economics engineering and later an MBA at INSEAD. Along his journey between science and business, he discovered how many commonalities exist between the two, in essence the ability to ask ourselves the right questions is the key. He loved the years spent at McKinsey, an unrivalled business lab, as much as his management roles heading a business unit for a pharmaceutical manufacturer and a marketing function for a telecom operator. Notwithstanding his extensive international experience, he discovered the fascinating challenges of multicultural environments when working in Moscow for the Russian Ministry of Finance with the mandate to set up a fund in close ties with the French Presidential Office. In 2015 he joined Sanofi after having worked as an Independent Professional for a-connect for several years. His passion for new challenges pervaded his entrepreneurial spirit and led him to co-found several ventures, such as a real estate fund, a renewable energy start-up and an NGO supporting Romanian artists. He has enjoyed sharing his experience and insights on competitive strategy as a lecturer at the Sheffield international MBA program.
Passionate about marrying his taste for photography and traveling, he loves snapping black and white photos of people, whether intensively playing chess in park in Moscow, receiving a haircut in a muddy street in India or chatting over a glass of ouzo in a Greek island. Traveling for him is probably the most rewarding path for self development. It is at the end all about the people we meet and how we are able to communicate with them. Having lived, studied and worked in over ten countries he had the opportunity to learn seven languages and even more crucial how to feel home almost anywhere.
